Presentation of the online platform of the EU Sport Against Violence and Exclusion (SAVE) project

The online platform of the EU Sport Against Violence and Exclusion (SAVE) project, as well as the promotional video of the project, was presented today at the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Split.

The Faculty of Kinesiology in Split is a partner in an international project run by a total of 9 partner organizations from 7 European countries. SAVE is a project funded under the EU Erasmus + Sport Program, and the main objectives of the project are:

1. Defining the competences needed to anticipate, avoid and stop violence, exclusion and intolerance through sport, and use of sports as a ‘conflict resolution tool’;
2. Resolving conflicts as part of a future curriculum at universities and lifelong learning programs;
3. Building the capacity of sports educational institutions to effectively manage the use of ‘tools’ to resolve conflicts.

In order to achieve the stated project objectives, the design of the project required the establishment of the current state to collect the necessary information and data on which further project activities were based.

The project is at the current stage of development of the curriculum, followed by a pilot phase in which the program will be presented through lectures to trainers and kinesiology students within 30 teaching hours through 5 modules. After received feedback, the program will be further refined and finalized.

Clubs are welcome to join the online platform, register, and be promoted through the SAVE project.

All trainers are welcome to take part in this stage as they gain additional competencies for improving their training programs. They will also gain a certificate on the completed program for recognizing and preventing violence and exclusion in sports.

The final program is intended for faculties and clubs that will be able to use it in further work and improvement.

The SAVE online platform was conceived as a site that would serve primarily as a way of presenting clubs but also for parents as a platform for finding the best sport and club for their child. The platform will contain information on a large number of sports and clubs in 8 languages, as well as texts and articles intended for both parents and trainers, both professional and scientific.

In addition to the online platform, a moodle site was also opened for online training designed to register trainees and students signed up for the pilot program.
