The Department of Kinesiology of Individual Sports is the “youngest” Department at the faculty and has been operating since the academic year 2014/15, and was created from the Department of Kinesiology of Sports. As its name suggests, it is made up of chairs and subjects of individual sports disciplines.
The Department of Aesthetic Movements (chaired by Prof. Dr. Sunčica Delaš Kalinski), the Chair of Monostructural and Polystructural Activities (chaired by Prof. Goran Gabrilo, PhD), and the Chair of Martial Sports (chaired by Assistant Professor Goran Kuvačić) operate within the Institute.
The scientific and teaching work of the employees belonging to the Institute is focused on a wide range of diverse kinesiological and multidisciplinary topics (e.g. the issue of transformation processes, i.e. the analysis of effects that can be obtained by applying appropriate training procedures, the development of basic and specific motor skills and motor knowledge, the determination of success factors in individual sports activities, etc.).
