On March 30, 2023, the University of Split held a Senate meeting where the student enrollment plan for the academic year 2023/2024 and a new general surgery specialist program at the Medical Faculty were approved. The Senate also adopted the Action Plan for the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (2023-2025) and the University’s Open Science Policy.
The Open Science Policy, based on various international recommendations and strategies, aims to make research results openly accessible, increase scientific collaboration, and involve the public in the research process.
The Open Science Policy of the University of Split aims to achieve several goals aligned with European open science policies, such as:
- Aligning data with FAIR principles and sharing them openly.
- Ensuring accessibility of all peer-reviewed scientific publications.
- Promoting research integrity and reproducibility of research results.
The University encourages authors to deposit published publications, research data, educational materials, and research software/codes in the institutional repository as early and openly as possible. It also promotes the creation of Research Data Management Plans before starting research and supports public and citizen engagement in the research process and data management. A glossary of terms is provided at the end for better understanding of the policy.
